Great videos. So, if I understand you correctly…….. You don’t remove the mulch from the previous year, you simply add compost over it and a new layer of mulch for the upcoming year? I have a terrible problem with weeds and even worse situation w/fireants. Thinking maybe a raised bed might thwart the ants……may just have to try it & find out. Thanks, Greg

Mulch is great but still is hard work. Find someone to deliver and install for free. I guess I’ll have to keep doing it myself.

Thank you, Great video and really helpful but I am afraid I may have took a step a little too early. I planted seeds a week ago in a container and herd about mulch so I got the wood chips but I already applied it before my greens started growing. Please tell me there is still a chance they can grow through the mulch?

I am a new gardener and just planted my first raised bed April 10th. Is it too late to mulch?

You can also get mushroom spores and grow it on the mulch during colder seasons.

  15. Happy Farms on October 16, 2022 at 8:44 pm

Yes! I use cardboard and my own long grass clippings (dried) for mulch. I have never used wood chips. Wow your garden looks great. Great video.
