The Funky Nokia X5 Offers An Impressive Array Of Multimedia Features

The Nokia X5 is a phone seemingly aimed at the youth market, or
maybe those who simply want a funky looking handset which is available in a
number of colours, and offers great features like the ability to play all your
music tracks.

The design of the Nokia X5 is certainly unique. It is a slider
handset, but features a landscape QVGA screen. There is a navigation pad below
the screen surrounded by six buttons in two groups.

The phone is encased in stainless steel with a 5 MP camera on the
back supported by a LED flash. The overall build quality of the phone is very
good, very stable. The slider itself works smoothly. The dimensions are unique.
The dimensions of the phone are relatively chunky, but this adds to the unique
design and indeed appeal of the phone.

The display is a 2.36 inch QVGA display, with decent quality even
in direct sunlight, with adjusting brightness automatically due to the ambient
light sensor. The keys themselves are large and easy to type, even the top row,
which is the nearest to the edge. Call quality with the Nokia X5 is top notch,
and it has a good Wi-Fi connection for internet browsing.

The browser supports Flash Lite and is impressively fast. For
multi-tabbed browsing, the use of Opera Mobile is available. The camera has a
fixed focus 5 megapixel camera with an LED flash. It produces very good quality
pictures, thanks to a pixel resolution of 2595x 1944.

The X5 is clearly aimed at those who are looking for a device
which will play music well. It comes with dedicated music keys, which launches
and hides the music playing application. It boasts a 3.5 mm jack and a powerful
loudspeaker. The audio quality over headphones is extraordinary; the same is
true for the loudspeaker. The versatile internal media player is on hand to
support numerous music as well as video file formats. A microSD slot is also
included with a pre-installed 2GB memory card; however this can be replaced
with a card of up to 32GB so you could easily store an entire music collection
within the phone.

The battery life is above average, it lasts over a day with a
single charge of the 950 mAh battery.

All in all, it is a very likable phone. The colour choices (pink,
azure, graphite black, yellow green and purple) are quite interesting, and sure
to turn heads for all the right reasons.

As a Symbian 60 v3 phone, it is user friendly, and the
specifications are perfectly acceptable for a phone with such a modest price
tag. If you are on a budget, or looking for a stylish alternative to a
standalone MP3 playerArticle Submission, the Nokia X5 makes a great choice.
