Nice garden boxes I’m guessing they are redwood? Lol using pressure treated wood will let chemicals leak into your garden.

  12. Arthur Hau on October 2, 2019 at 4:01 am

I only plant at most 6 potatoes in a raised bed of your size. I also interplant other vegetables. This year I interplant my potatoes with rose cuttings. I have 50% success rate rooting my rose cuttings. LOL I also have fava beans in the same bed. 🙂

  13. william clackum on October 2, 2019 at 4:01 am

I like your raised beds, I was thinking to myself during the first bit of the video "I wonder what the dimensions are?" And then you said it, so thanks for including that.

So I woke up today after heavy drinking, and saw this on my browsing history LMAO.

  26. king james488 on October 2, 2019 at 4:17 am

needing loose soil to grow potatoes is kinda a myth… as a matter of fact traditionally potatoes are a recommended first crop for a heavy-soiled plot because the act of growing them encourages soil rotation and aeration.

ofc if you take a glorified pot and fill it with perfect soil you’ll get great plants, it’s almost all about the soil(nutrients).

  27. killer funghoul on October 2, 2019 at 4:19 am

lol…. probably the funniest video of an ill-informed person trying to tell others how to grow potatoes ever.

    1) potatoes need depth, so plant them a good 10-12 inch deep

    2) feeding, place a layer of well rotted manure at the bottom of the trench when you plant them

    3) space them apart at about 1-1 1/2 feet apart so they don’t crowd each other and produce better stronger plants and reduces pest and diseases from spreading through the crop!

    4) mounding up (aka earthing up) compost over the younger plants has NOTHING! to do with keeping them cool, it’s to encourage stolons to form from the stem. potatoes are not a root veg they need help producing tubers.

    5) don’t let them flower at all. cut the flowers off of them to stop them from producing fruits (the little tomato looking things that are poisonous) allowing the plants to go to this stage draws the food from the tubers!

    6) watering, because you planted them in a raised bed they will need more water, tapering the amount off nearer the end of the growing cycle as too much water will cause them to split.

don’t be making claims on stuff you obviously know nothing about, it makes you look stupid. do a course in horticulture educate yourself properly, just now, you’re only spreading nonsense and pseudoscience!
