Ok I have made "normal " in ground veg gardens for year. I want to make raised beds this year. But my question is which is better for the plants?

  2. John Hood on September 24, 2022 at 7:01 pm

This looks really promising!! Great team!! You won’t need it, but best of luck!!

I’m still trying to figure out if Steve made it all the way to "Nowhere-Near-An-Interstate" ‘Sippi, or if this was some sort of green-screen kung-fu. If green-screen, Wow! Really well done!!

  3. Tee Giang on September 24, 2022 at 7:01 pm

You should do one on replacing an icemaker. I just did this with a $35 amazon replacement, and it surprisingly easy.  Also under-sink RO water filters.

  19. ledzep331 on September 24, 2022 at 7:21 pm

Good luck with the new channel guys! If the content on your own individual sites is anything to go by this can only be a success.
I hate having to pay someone to fix anything so I’ve picked up quite a few eclectic skills over the years and look forward to learning from and hopefully contributing to this new pool of knowledge.

Great idea and just a couple of suggestions towards expanding on your contributors. First, I don’t know which one is the "Garden" guru for this site, but may I suggest you check out Bobby’s mhpgardener YouTube channel. He has over 200 videos posted including Gardening, Greenhouse construction, Hydroponics etc. He would be a great addition to your team. Also, Matthias Wandel, woodgears.ca, who both of you know, with his engineering back ground, knowledge of electrical/computers, home improvement projects, jig creation, etc. etc. would also be an excellent contributor for "Home & Garden for Mere Mortals" I look forward, each week, to all of you for guidance and education!

This is a good channel (or should I say will be). Here is a suggestion for people who live in cold climates and have a refrigerator in an unheated garage. If you ever notice that the stuff in the freezer starts to thaw out when it’s really cold out here is a solution. Most refrigerators are designed for indoor use. The compressor runs based on the temperature of the refrigerator space not the freezer.Change the light bulb to a low wattage CFL type bulb and defeat the door switch. The light stays on and the small amount of heat from the bulb adds enough of a load to the refrigerator that it runs a few times a day. Frozen stuff in the freezer stays frozen. Sure beats spending big bucks on a refrigerator designed to run in an unheated space. And that’s my tip.

  22. Symon Fobbester on September 24, 2022 at 7:23 pm

    Not first.
I think this is going to be a good chanel. Will you have any other contributors?

  23. Gon Garcia on September 24, 2022 at 7:24 pm

    my lil experience:
I had a broken wall switch (the plastic thing) so i had literally the on/off switch and the cables on sight.
since i couldnt turn the power off to fix it, I en up doing a wood frame and attached it to it, hidding the cables and leaving the on/oiff switch on sight.
    its neat!

  24. Ken Porter on September 24, 2022 at 7:25 pm

  29. iusedtobehip on September 24, 2022 at 7:32 pm

I’m super excited about this!!!! I use youtube for this kind of stuff all the time but would rather info come from people that I actually trust! I also think that the message of "anyone can do this stuff" is soooooo important. It empowers people to be more capable.

    Thanks guys!

  30. Al Amantea on September 24, 2022 at 7:33 pm

Sounds great guys! Glad to see two of my favorite YTer’s collaborating to help others. I look forward to seeing the videos, and to putting my two cents in at times… That’s half the fun of YouTube… being able to stick your nose in where it doesn’t belong… (tongue in cheek)
