Gardener Roasts Dumb "Indoor Gardening Hacks"

Grab a copy of my book: http://bit.ly/epicgardenbook I had some fun with this one…I realize these types of “hack” videos are made just for the views but it was fun to look at this from a gardener’s perspective. What do you guys think…any good hacks in this one? Was I off base in any of these? Send me your favorite gardening videos to react to!

12:20 – so, the hack here is: shoot your plant with a shotgun, then water it with pepper juice for best results.
    Got it!

  2. Kyle Blandon on October 13, 2022 at 7:34 pm

"Plants absorb more nutrients upside down" 🤣

Plants self-right themselves via positive/negative gravitropism (with respect to the root and shoot)…all you did was mindfuck the plant and in all actuality reduce root function because the root will now start growing towards the original surface of the soil and run out of space faster

  3. D Ellsworth on October 13, 2022 at 7:37 pm

You just came correct on all those dumb ass hacks!! Bahaha Ur video on aloe helped me revive/rescue my aloe.

What HP must the soil have for the soda to react so violently!

  5. Linda Owens on October 13, 2022 at 7:38 pm

I have that exact black and white pot and was wondering why you would have it with. No drain. Lol I gotta look up your video so I can drill holes in mine. Thanks

  6. Kearstinne kenerson on October 13, 2022 at 7:38 pm

I would have ate the banana and tossed the peal in my worm bin that’s what I always do I do put it threw the blender first to help it brake down faster

  7. Gator Mike on October 13, 2022 at 7:39 pm

It’s a shame you have to give these hack videos extra views to roast them. Hope you give them a big thumbs down when your done.

  8. Bernadette Teague on October 13, 2022 at 7:40 pm

You are so funny…if you could just see the expression on your face but you are also very correct. Thank you for calling Blossom out. Love your videos.

  9. Alexis Nile on October 13, 2022 at 7:42 pm

"This is just so obviously dumb." -My initial thought to many of these hacks. This video was thouroughly enjoyable and entertaining. "Plants don’t have eyes." Hilarious and fact! "Just do these cute hacks and live your life!" Thank you.

  10. Celtic Lass on October 13, 2022 at 7:43 pm

Blossom is the same content farm as 5-Minute Crafts. They’re totally untested and BS, and only in it for the money. There have actually been injuries from people trying to do some of their "hacks". Do yourself a favour and STAY AWAY.

  11. M B on October 13, 2022 at 7:45 pm

    I love this guy.

  12. CDub3D on October 13, 2022 at 7:48 pm

A little late seeing this video… but that’s actually a tobacco hornworm. That’s what we have around our area mostly, though I’ve also seen tomato hornworms. The giveaway is the red ‘stinger’ and the black dots on top of the stripes

  13. Foggo Mogoggo on October 13, 2022 at 7:51 pm

Actually, I killed my succulents by giving them a bottle of veneger. Sad.

  14. John Liberty on October 13, 2022 at 7:52 pm

Funny how they used that green horn worm to promote hot pepper sprays when they eat hot peppers and anything in the night shade family. I lost Jalapenos to them. 1 can eat a large pepper plant overnight. They actually choose peppers over tomatoes or they did in my area. That hack would have attracted that hornworm to plants it normally would not have eaten lol.

U live in San Diego? So do I. Just came across ur channel.. right on!!!

  16. Peter Sedesse on October 13, 2022 at 7:52 pm

for those that don’t know about youtube ad monetization. A rough estimate would be about $80,000 in ad revenue that one blossom video made.

  17. Mira Bellenbaum on October 13, 2022 at 7:53 pm

How flipping alcaline does your soil even have to be for the vinegar to bubble like that? 🙄

  18. NightSky Candles on October 13, 2022 at 7:54 pm

how can insects be detured by hot peppers when only mammals have the ability to sense capsaicin?

  19. Growing With Felix on October 13, 2022 at 7:57 pm

Keep it up with the good content!

  20. TICO on October 13, 2022 at 7:58 pm

  21. jamaicanbutter on October 13, 2022 at 7:59 pm

This was so informative. I sometimes see these hacks pop up on my Instagram. Good to confirm that most of them aren’t good ideas. except that rope one. I want to try that.

I’m a little confused about the tin foil. Obviously, that tiny scrap of tin foil in the video won’t reflect much light back, but what about large sheets of tin foil that surround the plant and/or the growing setup (and, in the case of grow lights, contain the light source as well)?

  25. Rosaine Calmeyer on October 13, 2022 at 8:08 pm

It’s the word ‘hack’. People love what they think is a shortcut

  26. GreenGro Biologicals on October 13, 2022 at 8:09 pm

    Thanks!

  27. Lindani Mushiana on October 13, 2022 at 8:11 pm

I was so anxious watching this video thinking he’s gonna knock over that white pot with geometric designs. It’s so close to the edge🫣

  28. Jessica Cole on October 13, 2022 at 8:11 pm

I’ve actually brought back a damaged/dying aloe plant from that banana “hack”

  29. Sleepy_Kat on October 13, 2022 at 8:12 pm

Then you will have a yuky rotting banana in you pot …..

  30. Michele Riehl on October 13, 2022 at 8:12 pm

This is great! Keep up the fight with content farms ;D

  33. Nonyo Business on October 13, 2022 at 8:13 pm

The tin foil works. They need more of it but if you think for a second it doesn’t work than perhaps you’re not as knowledgeable as you assume. Grow tents are built like that for that very reason. To bounce light and allow for a more even distribution of light.

  34. Tobes on October 13, 2022 at 8:15 pm

I don’t mind ol Kevin, but I find these videos very salty on his part. he tries too hard to be un-bias towards the clips, but it really feels like he is just upset on the success of the crap he is commenting on

  35. Daniel Skiffen on October 13, 2022 at 8:16 pm

I truly hate how that channel has 30x the subscribers and it basically is just useless information. Yet Epic Gardening has some of the best tips and real hacks I’ve seen!!!!!

  36. Growing With Felix on October 13, 2022 at 8:17 pm

    nice video Kevin!

  37. C So on October 13, 2022 at 8:17 pm

There are some plants that can give better yield if you hang them up side down a couple of days before harvest

  38. Vicky B on October 13, 2022 at 8:17 pm

Clearly you, and Blossom, have never worn nylons. Those nylons will stretch immediately and the plant will once again be sitting on the bottom of the pot. Then it will get a run and will break, causing only a portion of the roots and dirt out of the pantyhose. You’ll end up in a worse situation than before.

  39. Jaydon on October 13, 2022 at 8:19 pm

Dr. Bronner’s is insanely good stuff

  40. Ed Frame on October 13, 2022 at 8:21 pm

    Thanks for the content.

  41. Hartford Boothe on October 13, 2022 at 8:21 pm

The pill was likely aspirin unless I missed a detail. Acetylsalic acid has been reported to trigger a plants defenses/immune system. Supposedly helps the plants better defend against diseases. Dunno if it’s true…read it on the internet.

  42. GAwA Grass Art with Aether Lyte Gawa Club on October 13, 2022 at 8:21 pm

11:00 – the foil+stick mirror is employing the old hack called "crippling the photosynthesis by canceling the transpiration on the bottom of the leaf."
When you have to slow the veg down because flower doesn’t have room yet, light up the bottom of the plant to cut growth in half.
It’s like pointing a hair dryer in a panting dog’s mouth.
(Unless there isn’t enough light to make any difference at all to anything.)
    Great hack 👍

  43. Angelo Flores on October 13, 2022 at 8:23 pm

That upside down hack is very funny have they not seen a tree?

  44. Deanna Hart on October 13, 2022 at 8:23 pm

Truer words have never been spoken, sir

Where is the video, the name of the video, where he speaks about putting Gravel into containers??

  47. Alyssa Guzman on October 13, 2022 at 8:28 pm

The spicyness of hot peppers only affect mammals…
