What about sanding the mirror down to natural wood?

  2. Carrie Lassiter on October 28, 2022 at 8:20 pm

I love the mirror you have. That was one of the things that I immediately keyed in on when viewing your bathroom. Maybe you could paint the frame? I just love the shape of it and the simple ornamentation at the top. Good luck!!

  3. Nicki Tuschmann on October 28, 2022 at 8:20 pm

Love the wood vanity under the sink area very beautiful

  4. Gina Maria on October 28, 2022 at 8:21 pm

I’m excited to see what you, because it’s nearly perfect 🤗💕🇺🇸👍🏻

  5. Davee Kilian on October 28, 2022 at 8:24 pm

Thanks for the inspiration! We are working on our cottage style little fixer upper and I am using an old dresser for the vanity. I appreciate the other ideas though as I was getting stuck.

  6. The Cozy Cottage on October 28, 2022 at 8:24 pm

I can’t wait to see this whole process!!❤️❤️

Your vanity looks amazing! Awesome idea!!

I have always loved a good green paint color. A few years back, a local Ethan Allen designer offered to come to my home and make suggestions for free. One of the things she told me in her many years of designing, was that she had a favorite green paint color that worked in every single home and every single lighting situation. So we tried it and we LOVE it and always get compliments by nearly all our guests…those that like green! It is Dry Sage by Benjamin Moore. Try a sample and see if it’s what you’re looking for! 😊

I agree. Try painting your mirror a light color (maybe duck egg blue or vintage green and leave the tile accents since they have green?) first before you spend money on a different mirror. I also was thinking maybe replace shower curtain w a longer shower curtain that is more ruffly or lacey and all white. You could put the shower curtain up closer to the ceiling and install a curtain that almost reaches the floor. I actually like your white bead board. You have a small utility closet/storage closet that is painted white. If you painted the bead board would paint that the same color? If you could photograph then photo copy the photo you could use markers or water color and see how things would look.

Excellent, excellent job on the vanity!! I don’t know how I ever got along without my power sanders. They have transformed my house…and who knew sanding masks who be mandatory someday! 😉😉☺️☺️. You’ll love that room when you finish it! You really don’t need anything more than one great piece (the vanity) and a couple wonderful baskets and some fluffy towels!

  11. Jane from the Country on October 28, 2022 at 8:33 pm

I like that mirror. Hope I can find one as cute as yours. I like hearing about your design ideas!❤️💯

  12. Sara Hill on October 28, 2022 at 8:36 pm

You should consider using a set of your landscape art for the bathroom and base your color scheme around that!

  13. Lee Lulu on October 28, 2022 at 8:38 pm

Thank you so much Andrea for responding to my comments. So very gracious of you. I do indeed like your information so much and you are so beautiful and sweet in each of your videos. Being an American is very important too . We all should love America however many today do not and want to do away with the Constitution. Thank you again.

  14. Pat Reed on October 28, 2022 at 8:39 pm

Love your beautiful home and style!!!

  15. Jessica Leslie-byrn on October 28, 2022 at 8:41 pm

Would it be wrong to turn my new 2000 built home into the cottage 1930s cottage style inside? I love that green.

Yes that stain needed to go..I’ve always been drawn tp chrome

  16. Svet-Lana on October 28, 2022 at 8:41 pm

You’re very pleasant to watch and listen to. Pure joy

  17. TheDriftwoodlover on October 28, 2022 at 8:42 pm

I think soft green wainscoting would be fantastic. I like the mirror and agree with those who say a lighter color would help. Love that you created your vanity. And yes to painting the accent tile. It is lovely but now doesn’t fit your vision for the home.

  18. Shirley Carter on October 28, 2022 at 8:43 pm

We’ve just painted our bead board, we live in a cottage and our choices were between french blue ( like your friends dresser) or duck egg green/blue, well the french blue won out,so it leads from the dinning room, upstairs, and landing with bright white above. Love it to bits. Xxx

  19. Jenny K on October 28, 2022 at 8:43 pm

My husband and I are getting ready to build a new home and I really appreciate your cottage/farmhouse bathroom ideas. I love all the looks that you were showing during this video. Very helpful to me for ideas.

  20. Cindy Gaudet on October 28, 2022 at 8:43 pm

Just painted my walls in kitchen soft sage green, love it. I have subway tile in kitchen but also has that similar line of tile. Was there when we bought it, but yea I wish-it was all subway.

  21. The Faithful Farmer Momma / The_Portillo_Homestead on October 28, 2022 at 8:45 pm

Paint it and make it your own. People think I’m crazy to for painting our custom kitchen wood cabinets. I would love to have a rustic farmhouse kitchen bright white and airy with natural wood. ❤️

  22. louise27574 on October 28, 2022 at 8:47 pm

I like your style and I like your videos but please keep the monologue to minimum, it’s way too long and boring

  23. Polly Porter -Campbell on October 28, 2022 at 8:48 pm

Pretty space! Check out jamie ray vintage on YouTube. She and her hubby are renovating a farm house and they have vanities they have made too.

  24. Kate 2 Create on October 28, 2022 at 8:48 pm

This was a perfect video to help me design the right materials for my new cottage farm bathroom, while I’ve had the space envisioned, when it came to certain details I have felt a little stuck. This video inspired me in the right direction and keep true to the origins of the home’s heritage.

  25. Connie Moore on October 28, 2022 at 8:48 pm

Painting checks or squares on the diagonal gives a room movement and an open feeling, imo. Also, maybe change the shower curtain to a neutral linen and raise it up as high as possible. I love my linen curtain from RH. I like the sanded vanity. Good luck! Look forward to watching this project.

  26. Kathleen Duggan on October 28, 2022 at 8:48 pm

The mirror is cute maybe lighten it like the vanity and add a super light green wash to it??? Also, your painting are beautiful so would love to see a piece of your own in the bathroom😊. It all sounds great looking forward to seeing what you do.

  27. on October 28, 2022 at 8:51 pm

Add your own paintings above the toilet. They are great. 😊

  28. Dreamelenasc891 on October 28, 2022 at 8:51 pm

Yay can’t wait to see what you do with your guest bathroom. Thanks for all the progress pics and other blogger’s pics for inspo. I want to incorporate some more antiques into my little suite now. Btw I like your black mirror, maybe you could paint it white and keep your chrome light fixture. And incorporate some chrome decor on your counter and above the toilet. Or keep it black and paint on some green leaves on it or something to make it more interesting and rustic. Or paint the mirror green and spray paint the light fixture black.

I am a new subscriber, I just found you while browsing. You are so sweet and I love your ideas. I am an older, lol, much, much older viewer, my husband and I are looking for ideas to do up our old house as cheaply as possible. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

  31. Lee Lulu on October 28, 2022 at 8:53 pm

America is a wonderful place. No matter what you and you defender say. Being pro American is always a great thing to be. Defending America is not nasty. If your preference is your international audience and you can’t support the 4th of July American biggest holiday, or as the video seems, it is as I said it’s your right thank to this country. My opinion on this video doesn’t mean I think your bad or uncaring just not very patriotic.

  32. Julie Boston on October 28, 2022 at 8:54 pm

Great timing! I’m working on my guest bathroom, too! I love green, check out Jack Pine by Benjamin Moore, It’s gorgeous. I’m also building my own vanity. Found and repurposed adds so much character you just can’t get at a big box store.

  33. Jennifer Fitzgerald on October 28, 2022 at 8:54 pm

Love it! Someone forgot to replace the toilet paper roll 😂🤪

  34. Liz on October 28, 2022 at 8:56 pm

I love your videos. We painted our 6 shades of blue tile with white Tough as Tile Paint. It worked like a charm. Maybe a soft tone on tone Painted checkerboard pattern. Erin used one on Home Town, She also did a argyle pattern on a wood floor. Maybe you could do a faux wood paint on the floor. Can’t wait to see the finished reveal.

  35. All About Decor on October 28, 2022 at 8:56 pm

Painting that strip would be a good alternative to see what you’d like. However, tearing out just the strip to replace with a subway is an easy fix. Love the idea of the green. Also wallpaper on the upper portion with painted bead board would be awesome. Anything you do will be beautiful. Your ideas are always wonderful. Looking forward to your project. Loving the idea of lightning the vanity wood. Place your paintings in there. I get to move into my new place in August. It’s finished finally. I’m sooooo excited to place my copy of your painting I bought. It will be in my dining room.

Your kitchen is absolutely perfect! I dearly love the kitchen faucet. You could not have chosen a more beautiful faucet. It looks like it is “at home” with the rest of your kitchen decor. Thanks for sharing. I ❤️❤️❤️❤️ the picture on the counter.

    Sounds like fun to me….

  46. Susan Morgan on October 28, 2022 at 9:07 pm

Love your posts! We have done our bathroom twice since moving in 30 years ago. The second time we did it, we kept our white subway tile and actually chiseled the border tile and the inlay tile, similar to what you have, out and replaced it with black. The tiles were the exact same size as the previous ones so it was not too difficult. We did have our floor replaced with traditional black and white tile. Took the wall paper down and painted the walls white. It was pretty inexpensive and completely changed our 1910 bathroom. Looking forward to seeing your new guest bathroom!

Hi Andrea, you are always a delight to watch, i get so much inspiration from you😊 i have a few small pieces of furniture i would like to sand down to get that beautiful light brown warn wood look that you have in your bathroom and your night stands, i think they look so beautiful! Can you tell me what electric hand sander you are using in this video? Thank you for sharing your great videos! Blessings from ATX:)

Love this post. Totally understand making decisions that you later regret. I have a suggestion about your tub walls. We just installed luxury vynal tile in three bathrooms at a client’s house. And I cannot say enough positive things about that product! They’re peel and stick but you leave a space to grout them. It’s a special grout made for the vynal. I was so inspired by the quality and ease of installation and the price! I quickly started thinking where else could I use this?! People use them for accent walls in kitchens , bathrooms, laundry rooms,I saw them used on boats in the bathroom areas, even shower walls! Anyways just thought you might consider it. Can’t wait to see what you end up doing ❤️

  49. Lizabeth_Marisa on October 28, 2022 at 9:15 pm

I love that you’re honest about not loving your shower tile! Thank you.
