I like the the one with tiki torch canisters. Shouldn’t the paint be heat resistant?

  3. Lazy DIY on August 28, 2020 at 10:15 pm

I am in Love with the Turtle! I not sure why, but how cute is that!! The Lantern is also very cool! I don’t know if I ever saw tiki torches at Dollar Tree, but I will keep an eye out for one. Great idea adding the raffia on the connections. Really inspiring video. Thank you for sharing your wonderful creativity

    Love the turtle!!!!

  13. Kathy Delp on August 28, 2020 at 10:27 pm

So the turtle is a MUST!!!! I’m thinking about wearing garden gloves, and cutting the bottom ring out of the basket. Then, molding it to a more shell like shape (round), and glueing or taking thin wire and piecing it together in places. The D.T. even sells black wire in the hardware section. 😁 But anyway, I love, love, LOVE that turtle!!!!! I may give mine some round ball legs. Those wooden ones that everyone is using in DT projects. I think the stubby look painted to match would be cute also. Tysvm for this idea!!!! I’ve wanted one of those turtle lamps forever now, and you just my wish come true!!!!! So mine will either have a lamp kit and very low watt bulb, or fairy lights as well!….heehee!!! 😎🖒🖒💖💖

  16. Katherine Walz on August 28, 2020 at 10:32 pm

You could also use dream catcher rings

  21. Lisa Harvey on August 28, 2020 at 10:36 pm

I wonder if DTs solar light would get enough light to light up at night. You could poke them in the ground and slide the turtle over. Maybe…

  22. Alissa Hague on August 28, 2020 at 10:37 pm

the turtle was so freakin hard and frustrating to make!! my jems kept falling off, the turtle head was too small, i couldn’t get the legs to stick and I made the biggest mess with the caulk!!!:( i am definitely trying again! any suggestions on the caulk? For the jems I even used e6000 AND hot glue!

  30. Lisa Jodlowski on August 28, 2020 at 10:48 pm

Do you think the caulking would work if I tried this for napkin rings? I tried just gems and E600 with the silver napkin rings and it didn’t work here in Florida, maybe it’s just too hot her..

  31. Michelle Stoffle on August 28, 2020 at 10:53 pm

That fire 🔥 bowl is so beautiful I love how rustic it looks and totally a DIY I can do!💕👏🏻👍

  32. Debbie Flansaas on August 28, 2020 at 10:54 pm

Be careful with the tins. Some might use galvanized tubs and should they happen to get to close to the fire can give off dangerous fumes. All projects super cute. Love the turtle the creativity of it all. I definitely would like to try the lantern but I think I would use some extra bamboo and weave a bottom to it so that I could pick it up and move it without having to pick up two pieces. 🤗😍

  33. Charlene Harrison on August 28, 2020 at 10:54 pm

  36. Twanda Mobley on August 28, 2020 at 10:57 pm

Will the caulking make the gems stay permanently?

  37. Sonya Pickwell on August 28, 2020 at 10:59 pm

    I love the turtle. Beautiful

  43. Jean on August 28, 2020 at 11:04 pm

A suggestion: use a piece of plastic or something to put on the inside of the bottom of the basket to give the hot glue for the feet something to hang on to, and not just the wire. So, you’ll have the pot, the wire, and the reinforcement piece sandwiched together.

  44. Suzyqs on August 28, 2020 at 11:05 pm

I thought that was styrofoam cups on the bottom for the feet… I think I would have painted those a pretty blue or the ocean green but that’s just my humble opinion! He is so cute !

  45. Vicky timmerman on August 28, 2020 at 11:06 pm

    Very well done!

  47. Mary s on August 28, 2020 at 11:09 pm

I would have made a bottom or something to be able to pickup whole thing or hang if ya wanted

  48. Kimo Craft on August 28, 2020 at 11:09 pm

I might have to try something like this – working on outdoor DIY projects and good to have this in my repertoire!
