Rabbit Enrichment Ideas

Rabbit Enrichment Ideas

Firstly sorry about Bigwig’s coat looking so messy hehe! I did try to brush him before filming but he just starts growling and gets upset… because he is sassy like that haha 🙂

Everything (including the bedding) just seems to get stuck in his fur! I am still working on taming – as you can see Piper is much more confident and I am able to keep her fur in good condition, but I will be spending much more time with Bigwig now so he will trust me better.

Hope you enjoyed the video and got some ideas too!

I think sand or shredded paper would be better for digging with rabbits inside

May I ask, what is the breed of the black rabbit? It looks EXACTLY like my rabbit and my wife and I have struggled to find the exact mix of breeds.

Do you have any tips for encouraging my rabbit to eat hay? I have had him for a few weeks, and he is slowly eating more hay, however it is still it nearly enough. My guess as to why he isn’t eating very much hay is because he hasn’t had hay in his whole life. Any tips?

Just a word of warning on the cork recommendationUnlike many woods, cork can and does swell when damp.If your rabbit swallows pieces of cork bark it could end up with a serious gut obstruction.Better to avoid it and remember that unlike reptiles, rabbits have sharp teeth and use them to explore everything. They do not always know what is good for them and what is potentially dangerous.

  22. Robyn Gray on August 11, 2020 at 9:44 pm

Helpful! ❤️ I love my rabbit. But he is scared of me and I don’t know why! I think it’s because when he was younger he hated being picked up and we picked him up to try and get him used to us. He lets us stroke him though and eats from our hands.

  50. spambam sniper on August 11, 2020 at 10:22 pm

what do you use for the flooring? Did you find your rabbits digging a tunnel outside of the dirt container? My buns are indoor bunnies and I’m looking for alternatives as they will have to be outside bunnies for a while.
