    I would also suggest that you leave enough room for the plants mature height. If a plant is going to get 6′ wide then you need to leave that much room around the plant to it to grow and mature. Crowding the plants will create a maintenance nightmare.

    Roots can’t get through concrete….nor do they put pressure on foundations. If there is a crack and leaking water it will EXPLOIT THE PRE-EXISTING DAMAGE. I little fibrous root can’t get through a solid wall.

    Purchase a plan from a certified landscape designer or landscape architect, study up on some basics horticulture skills. Then you’ll have a garden/landscape you can really be proud of!
