Hey guys! I’m so excited to share this light up Jack-O-Lantern topiary, made from a majority of Dollar Tree products. We were only allowed to use a budget of $10 for this collaboration, so please feel free to make this better with nicer stuff! 🙂

*Please don’t keep your string lights on for an extended amount of time and please monitor their heat levels. LED lights would be best for this project. I used string lights that I already owned, to stay under the $10 limit for the collaboration.

This is a great idea. I’m using it. Thnx. 👍 Quick observations. Could you not have first dipped the uncarved pumpkins into the paint, three times each, THEN sharpied and cut them out? So as to save elbow grease and the need for a brush? Also, wondering why you didn’t keep the cutout portions from the backs in order to replace them once the lights were in for both a cleaner look and to alleviate the need of masking tape? Just curious. Thnx again for the awesome project idea.

P.S. the E6000 glue it takes about 12 hour to adhere, but takes up to 48 hours to completely dry.
Loved this!!! I just made one, with my own little twist. I made mine with jack skellington facial expressions and used purple lights from dollar tree!!

A SMOOTH blade… Wow, that’s ironic. All those "pumpkin carvers" you want to make your pumpkins look really slick and polished are SERRATED, but every time I use such blades on these little Dollar Tree pumpkins it just TEARS them instead of cutting, making them look like shit. But a SMOOTH blade? I gotta try this now, thank you. ^_^

I can’t wait to make this myself this year. I’m going to make two. One is going to stay orange and I am going to paint the other one black and put purple lights in the orange one and put orange lights in the black one. And i am going to use a cauldron as my base

Great craft! Beware the pumpkins are super squeaky when you cut them. Keeping the knife wet with a damp paper towel helped but it is THE WORST SOUND!!!
I ran the lights through the pumpkins with the pole and didn’t have to cut the backs.

I like this, but most Dollar Trees won’t have aby planters in the fall of the year so this is something you would need to plan ahead for. Just an FYI, if you start going to your Dollar Tree around Mid September, most Dollar Trees start having their Halloween stuff out. One item they have are orange and purple small strings of lights. If you don’t mind going to for a Purple or Orange color.. you will need probably 3 sets.

Nice. Would be great with larger pumpkins, too. I would wrap microlights around the pole, and eliminate the step of having to stuff the backs with Christmas lights for a cleaner look.
